This week we’d like to introduce you to the fourth member of our Hiring Our Heroes cohort, Brent Krohn. Brent is a transitioning Army Officer who is looking to leverage his extensive leadership experience as he moves into a new career in the civilian workforce. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Justice and Public Policy from Concordia University Wisconsin.
“I am seeking a management role in any number of areas, whether it be logistics, construction, technology, sales or even a non-profit organization or law enforcement role,” Brent said. “But at the end of the day, I am looking to continue to lead people in today’s world, assist and make a difference in their careers and lives, and contribute to an organization’s culture in any way that I can.”
The Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) Corporate Fellowship Program places transitioning service members with partner companies as they move into their civilian career. Brent joined the program and started with RIMTECH on August 23, and he is now nearing the end of his first month with it.
“I stumbled into the HOH program at the last minute, but am extremely grateful to be able to participate,” Brent said. “HOH presents a truly unique opportunity in that it allows me to explore the corporate sector before transitioning, thus allowing me to make a more informed and confident decision regarding my next career choice after the military.”
As part of the program, fellows attend networking events, revamp their resumes, make connections with local businesses, and gain experience in the private sector through the companies at which they are placed. Brent is currently working on a project with the other Hiring Our Heroes fellows to update RIMTECH’s STAR Staffing’s policies and procedures. He is also pursuing his Lean Six Sigma Certification.
“I feel truly blessed to be able to work at RIM Technologies through the next 12 weeks. Already in such a short time, Sara Kinney has been instrumental in my career search and professional development, and I look forward to helping her organization in whatever way that I can,” Brent said.
“I look forward to starting the next adventure in finding a career with my wife, Sarah, and three sons, Gabriel, Wesley, and Ezra. They are my greatest blessing, and every day with them is a new and incredible experience, especially in this transition out of the military.”
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Brent to RIMTECH.
