Gov. Hickenlooper announced a new apprenticeship program for high school students in Colorado this September. The idea is to better prepare students for the workforce by getting them access to training and hands-on experience before graduation so that they leave better prepared for college or work. Too many students leave high school or even college unprepared for the workforce and without any direct experience working in their chosen field, and apprenticeship programs help bridge the skills gap and ensure that the next generation of workers is better equipped to begin working in their field of choice. Rim Tech is committed to helping train our future workforce, and CareerWise Colorado sounds like a great first step. The program launches in 2017, and it will be interesting to watch its progress.
