Are you interested in learning how to create a website for your organization? This web development introductory class will familiarize you with the basics of web design. At the completion of the class, attendees will have been exposed to two key languages (HTML and CSS) and will have developed the basic skills they need to pursue more specialized training and education. A follow-up course in February will teach participants how to deploy the website they have created. It will cover the steps required to publish a personal website to the public internet, and participants will learn tips and tricks on styling their page.
This introductory web development course will be held at the Catalyst Campus for Engineering Innovation, 555 Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, and Sara Kinney, CEO of Rim Technologies LLC, will be the instructor. The course will be broken up into two 2-hour sessions (6:30-8:30 PM) on the 23rd and the 30th of January, and participants will learn how to use HTML and CSS to create their own website. In addition, during the first week of February all attendees will be able to sign up for a 1-hour time-slot to review the website they have created and troubleshoot any problems one-on-one with Sara Kinney.
The cost is $100 per person. To sign up, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please send your phone number and email address to reserve a space. The course requires 10 registered students by January 19th. We encourage participants to bring their own laptops, but laptops will be available to rent for the course and for practice at home. You will also need headphones, but earbuds will be provided if you do not have any of your own. Beverages will be available (water, coffee, and tea) and students are welcome to bring food to class.
